Jacob Scharfman, Baritone.
Jacob Scharfman (he/him) is a lyric baritone performing opera, concert, and song repertoire. Originally from the United States, Mr. Scharfman joins the Theater Lübeck for the 2022-23 season. Recent engagements include the Staatsoper Hannover, Theater Chemnitz, Opéra national du Rhin, and Salzburger Landestheater. He won First Place in the 2021 National Opera Association Competition and was nominated for Best Newcomer by the Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis in 2020. A graduate of The Juilliard School and the Merola Opera Program, Mr. Scharfman won the Oratorio-Lied Prize at the 2019 Viñas Contest in Barcelona and was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
